      Dear all,

Nice to meet you all here even though it is difficult for me to post….

My mother was diagnozed in 2013 melanoma stage 3. Until now everything was fine, she did all her regular scans. Lately she found out she had a swollen lymph node in the groin which is near the operated mole. She is having the node removed tomorrow, but all the waiting and not knowing is devastating to me and for our family… I cannot stop searching the Internet, i know this is not a good thing as every problem is individual but i am so worried. However, I found out that there are many people with 1 lymph node positive which have been NED after that. I would appreciate sharing some expercience because she means everything to me!!!

Sorry for my bad English, I am from Bulgaria. Wish you all good health!

Hey-I’ve been stage 3b since feb 2013 and had a ton of ahhhh! False alarms-false positives in PETS, swollen this and that, and many sleepless nights. I’m still NED since diagnosis. All that worrying I did amounted to nothing except fear of the unknown and I can’t do one single thing about it-other than go to the best melanoma dr I know. After that I let them take care of it. In the words of my coworker “that’s not my job”. Hope your mom turns out clear, if not-then you can regroup and come up with a plan of action until then she is still NED!

Tracyyy, thinking good thoughts for your Mom here in California. I also have a loved one recently diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. I've learned to be very careful about what I read on the Internet because medical advances are so rapid in this area that much of the information is outdated. You can really scare and confuse yourself with information that is no longer pertinent. I do recommend reading this forum and Celeste's/Bubbles blog. You can search her name on this forum and find a lot of valuable, current information. ~ Carol

Thanks for the advice, Carol! I really must try to avoid misleading information. With the new medical advances there is hope. I pray for your loved one, hugs!
