Stage 4 on BRAF/MEK swollen ankles

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 about three weeks ago and just started BRAF/MEK combo last Sat. I noticed for the last three days now, his ankles have gotten swollen. The nurse from UCLA, where he is getting his treatment had him tested for blood clots and it came back negative. She could not offer other causes and said it could just be the cancer.

Anyone have similar experiences? He gets fatigue from WBR and sits on his lazy chair a lot to rest, but he does get up and walk around.

I would not think that uncommon at all in Tafinlar + MEK

I am in LA and treated at ucla also On TAF + MEK (BRAF+MEK Combo) since Dec 2013 about 3 months now

My feet did nd still do swell up …my hands….bottom of my feet have had callassas (sp)…i have fatigue and a good amount of joint pain but all in all it is managable.

You guys should drop me a line i'd love to know who you see at UCLA.

I would expect a few side effects in the first 4 to 6 weeks. my Doctor told me the one thing to expect is the unexpected….a lot of people have told him various side effects but coming and going for 24 to 96 hours at a time.
