I had my surgery on Friday the 13th. All went well, but I'm so sore. It was below my left shoulder blade and the lymph nodes were removed from under my left arm – that hurts the most. The next 2 weeks are going to be difficult while I await my results. I would appreciate prayers that it has not spread to my lymp nodes. Thank you!!

My husband also had surgery in the same exact spot (below his left shoulder, 19 mm tumor with 2cm WLE) and had lymph nodes taken out of the arm pit. He said by far the armpit hurt the worst, he said the back part just felt tight. but he recovered quite quickly (even went to work the following day :)) The waiting is tough no doubt, will send prayers your way for sure.

Thank you! My tumor was a lot smaller and the doctor said there is about a 15% chance it has spread, but I'm still nervous – to me any chance is a big chance. I took one day off of work just because trying to get myself ready was so painful. lol I hope your husband is doing well.

Mine was on my back, and they gave me a 10% chances of the SNB coming back positive. It didn't, thankfully. The original incision site had more melanoma, but they removed it all with the wide incision. I found that the pain on my back unbearable. My armpit pain didn't even register on the radar. But my back … hurt a lot more than my C-section and for days!
Good luck, 2 weeks sounds like sooo long. I got mine in a little less than a week but still agd 10 years in that interval.
