I'm being treated for Stage 4. I'm 2 1/2 years in and on my 32nd dose of keytruda. The last few weeks I've had swelling in my feet, legs, and arms. Has anyone else experienced this? My doctors can't find why. All my labs are great. I need a solution to stop the swelling if possible!

Hi Katie…. You may want to take a peek at some of the inflammatory arthritis and joint pain posts here. While most people have pain in there joints that precede the swelling, these immunotherapy side effects aren't exactly the same for everyone, and do not always present like the traditional forms of autoimmune diseases. Have your doctors done blood labs specifically targeted to detecting inflammation or autoimmune conditions (arthritis… Lupus… etc)? My blood labs look pretty routine, other than inflammatory markers. I didn't begin having "issues" with Keytruda until around my 26th dose. I made it to 29, and have been on an "extended break" since early July 2016. If NSAIDS aren't working well enough to bring down your swelling, there may be a need for something stronger.

Hello.
Swelling in your feet, legs and with arms are uncomfortable. I would recommend you to go through a Massage therapy because a therapy works by directing pressure to the skin and muscle areas affected. Many physical therapists have also suggested that those people who are dealing with feet and leg pain, can opt the hydrotherapy treatment. My friend was staying in Yakima and she was dealing with the same situation, so her doctor has recommended her to install a walk in bathtub in Yakima because these tubs supply with extra features of hydrotherapy jets which help the tissues to heal quickly.
