Hello, I was wondering if any one could tell me what kind of symtons one may have when melanoma returns or spreads. I am currently stage 3 after having a primary rmoved from right arm in Nov. 2010, wide excision surgury and 36 nodes removed from armpit. Lately I have been having slight headaches and for the last 5 days or so some stomach dicomfort, especially after eating something. Fatige and feeling tired alot to as I can sleep for 8 to 10 hours and wake up feeling like I had just gone to bed. See my oncologist lat in feb. and almost feel I should see him earlier.

Ct scan of chest and abdomen looked good just over 3 months ago.

Don't panic yet.In my case the cancer did not come back till almost 10 years. It was a stage 1 but struck back as a stage 4 with no signs other than a small bump onthe neck.More like an ingrown hair for about 6 or 7 weeks. Then it grew very slowly but noticeably. No other tell tale signs.Follow upn any suspisions as soon as possible. My prayers go with you.

Those symptoms could be almost anything and the last thing I would consider is melanoma. If you are feeling anxious go see your PCP. This sounds more like depression or it could be migraines though they are usually very severe headaches there is also what is known as a "silent migraine" (just two possibilities I know of because I suffer from both). If you don't come up with anything with your PCP before your Onc appoint I'd call and ask for a Brain Scan along with the regular scans just to completely put your mind at rest.
Hope you get to the bottom of this.

I believe you should go with your gut instinct…I knew something was wrong when no one else did…make the appointment with the oncologist and get your scans. You are stage 3…why wait ? Go!

Don't wait, that's what my husband did, he was having discomfort and night sweats at first. Then fatigue and just feeling sick all the time. Did have strange headache, the way he explained to me sounded like migraine but came and went quickly. But did have several times be for MRI was confirmed. Stage 1a, 2/2003 then stage 4, 6/2011. So take care as soon as you can.
