First thing….I apologize for so many questions and such. I just keep thinking of bases I feel I need to cover.
In February (I think) my regular Doc ordered an X-Ray because of a fall I took, it was of the neck. Nothing broken but showed a cyst or whatever. They did an ultrasound, nodule on my thyroid. Doc says it showed signs of calcification and most likely nothing to worry about. 2nd scan in october, looks about the same. Scan again in 6 months. No problems.

July is when I found out about melanoma. Endocrinologist does not seem concerned. My brain is screaming. I can't keep up with everything. I'm thinking back burner for this. I know it's in my records but I have no clue if my Oncologists have read them through. . Should I press this issue? Or just try and calm myself down and get through the next year.
Thanks (again) for reading.

Covering your bases is a good thing. There is no such thing as too many questions. You are trying to aclimate yourself to the news that you have cancer.
If the nodules on your thyroid are bothering you, you should have that discussion with the oncologist. Chances are he may already know about them and do not see an issue with them. Many oncologist are of the mind set that I only need to talk to you if there is a problem. By start the discussion with him you should get an answer.

I'm stage 3A also. They found a thyroid nodule about 9 months ago in my scan. The oncologist also said it was nothing. I pressed, so he ordered an ultra-sound. Came back same as yours, so I suppose I'm OK with that. Last scans showed little or no change, which makes me 85% sure it's not Mel. Didn't check to see how old you are but my understanding is that they are pretty common in white, over 50, women.
Good Luck,
Mary

I have two thyroid nodules that have been biopsied a total of 3 times just to be sure it wasn't Melanoma. They told me that the thyroid would be a very rare place to have it spread. They can't rule out thyroid cancer, but they have ruled out Mel. I think I'm having mine out this summer when I have time off. I'm just sick of worrying about. Good Luck and the biopsies did ease my mind.
