Surgery went good. I'm sore and swollen but no complaints. It's the 3rd surgery on cheek and I'm still pretty 🙂 All in all I can't complain about cosmetics; surgeon is real good. Clearly my concern much like you with your SNLB will be with results. He took out a lot of scar tissue and surrounding tissue. Now the waiting game… which sucks because if it is a recurrence then I go for Pet Scan and that carries anxiety, then results of Pet Scan…anxiety and so on… Nothing here that anyone who posts doesn't go through…it just sucks. How long for you to get results on SNLB? I had to wait a week….I remember that clearly but also when I was told it was NEG….praying that for you!!!!!

No I had a SNLB under jaw in 2011 when I was intially diagnosed. I either had a dermal melanoma or most likely unknown primary because I had small lump in cheek they thought was a cyst. Anyway I went about 2.5 years until bump reappeared in cheek in Spet 2013 and had another surgery. From there it was found in lungs and put me stage 4. I did ipi from Oct 13' to Dec 13' with good results and then went in and did IL-2 in Jan 14'. I was NED in Feb 14'. Everyone is still a bit shocked by nodule in scar tissue…still small chance it's could be benign but I've been down this road before. I didn't have a SNLB this time because I've been cut and rearranged so many times on cheek and being stage 4…don't think it's relevant.
I'm hoping for Friday but probably Monday too.
PS- I've never had any lymphnode involvement…apparently spread through blood.

Glad to hear it went well. The first couple days after the surgery always tend to be the toughest. I was the same way in that the graft was worse (by far) than the sentinal node biopsy. The graft does take time to heal so be patient. Keep us posted.

I ended up not needing a graft, but I did have significant pain after all 3 of my surgeries. Just wanted to say I learned the hard way to try to stay ahead of the pain by taking pain meds at intervals, like every 4 hours, around the clock, to get through the first few days. Good luck!
