My husband just had his latest checkup after having to stop the Opdivo/Yervoy treatment. He made it through three treatments and the side effects were just too hard on him–the last infusion was in June of 2017. The tumors are still continuing to shrink to this day…..We feel incredibly blessed. My heart aches when I read some of the postings here and I just wanted to throw out some good news for those of you who are having a difficult time. A little hope can go a long way.
Thank you to all who have been such an encouragement to me.
Bubbles (Celeste)—many many thanks to you for all you do!

Awe! That is soooo great!! Your post lifted my heart (before I even got to your shout out!!) I am so pleased for your husband. YES!!!!! We had a peep like him in my arm of the trial I was in. Poor guy "progressed" within the first three months…so got kicked off the trial…this was with nivo back in 2010! BUT…with only the few doses he attained…he, like your husband…showed tumor shrinkage on subsequent scans, to the point that he became NED!!!! Thanks for sharing. Hope is a wonderful thing indeed!

Thank you for posting, and all the best to you and your husband. My husband's first infusion (nivo or nivo/ipi in a trial) is coming up, and reading posts like yours does my heart and nerves good. And it seems like this kind of "after" effect story keeps popping up – part of the "be patient with the patient" doc quote that Celeste reminds us of.
Happy Spring –
