      Could bone metastases present as a mechanical pain: movement = pain, no movement = no pain?
      I read that the pain is usually felt mostly during rest or at night. Coulf someone describe the symptoms of bone metastases, please?

          Bone metastasis can absolutely present in the way you’re describing. I walked around for 7 months this year thinking that I had tennis elbow. It was a bone lesion at the same location at which tennis elbow would present. One month after 10 radiation treatments-my arm feels fine.

              Larry complained of pain in his shin and was limping for 3 months. Pain was there but not an bad when he was resting. Doctors told him it was probably a sprain. When he started having other problems they did an x ray whch showed a spot on his bone.

                      Correct, when the pain was at a "normal" level, I was pain-free when resting.  At a later point, when the pain became near-debilatating, I had pain all of the time.

                          How long did it take to progress to constant pain (month, 2 months or???). Dis you take any painkillers to controll your pain during "normal" pain? Was it helpful? Thanks!

                              Obviously each situation will be different.  My pain started in January.  When I didn't know what I had, icing it and wearing a brace helped.  I never took meds for my elbow.  However, I did need to take them for around 2 days in July for a stomach issue.  My recollection is that while the meds took the edge off of the stomach pain, they did nothing for my elbow.  My advice would be to get an x-ray.  An x-ray is what ultimately showed my bone lesion.  I hadn't gotten an x-ray because I hadn't fallen, etc.  I had also been 10 years removed from a stage I melanoma and had no idea to look for a bone lesion.  In hindsight, my elbow was the first noticeable manifestation of my (now) Stage IV melanoma.
