I need some input. I'm worried about biopsy I had five days ago. Nurse said they didn't get a good stain and had to send it somewhere else. Does this mean it's probably cancer. I've had the mole for years and it hasn't changed but he did a punch biopsy just to check. Could it be something else or should I prepare myself. I have obvious anxiety over this. Any help appreciated ! Thanks!

That sounds like more of a process issue, not a diagnosis issue.  Pre worry never helped anyone and trying to read into something like this is totally worthless.  Staining slides and reading them is still a manual process and things don't always go perfectly.  Sending things on to someone else with more/different experience is being thorough.

Just found out mole was melenoma. Breslow was 0.55 mm and clarks level 2. No ulceration. Very scared! Help please! Having it excised next week.

Please don't panic.  You caught it **very** early.  You'll get a WLE (wide local excision) to make sure you have good clean margins, and that will be that.  Your dermatologist will probably want to see you every three months for a year for a full body scan, and you'll be given some education on being "sun safe".  Chances are you will never have to worry about the word "melanoma" again!

Thank you! That's what Ive researched they didn't take the whole thing just punch biopsy but I'm still hopeful it is fine. I know I have a great surgeon and I've got good info so far. Typically how long do results come back for clear margins. Waiting is the worst part.
