I am in clinical trial E1609 and I am scheduled to receive my 3rd infusion on Tuesday. I am getting 10mg/kg. Almost immediately after the 2nd infusion, the itching began almost immediately! I'm not worried about it because I know it's a common side effect, but I'm wondering if there is anything else anyone else has done other than just take Benadryl. Benadryl definitely helps, but if I forget to take it every 3-4 hours, the itching starts like clockwork. Thanks!

My hubby uses lotion frequently and rubs it in. He takes loratidine 10 mg during the day because it is non-sedating. Fleece and warm clothing make it worse. Avoid grass and sawdust . The itching gets better. He had his 4 the infusion 10 days ago.
He had a lot of cramping after 3rd infusion. It stopped when he quit milk and ice cream. Doing very well now

My husband is in the same trial. He too developed itching early on and 7 months since his last dose (3mg/kg) still has itching. He still uses Benadryl regularly. He also has rashes for which he uses hydrocortisone cream and that also seems to help the itching (in places where rash and itching overlap). He no longer seems to find Benadryl sedating (during the day he now only takes 25mg). I'll be curious to hear what others have found useful.
