Sounds like you are in the right direction.  I have a number of melenoma procedures.   It's very important to dig out any possible Mel's.  They come back in a bad way if you don't get them now.   Go for the full procedure and it will be very tight when they close it up.   I had lymph nodes removed by the onc surgeon and the reconstruction done by the plastic surgeon. They worked as a team and the results have been good. Get the bad guys out should be your first concern.   Then jump on the next train.  Chris.

My ippi/nivo treatment caused my eye lashes and a number of other areas to go white.   The treatment team  explained that it was due to the treatment and encouraged me with the idea that I was responding to the drugs.  For now I have had shrinking and no new mets so I think it's a good thing to have the white stuff happening.     Hope you get the results we all need.

Hello Janis, The LDH testing is a blood test that is an indicaton of Tumor loading ( from what I know) .  During my treatment I would have the test results and watched the number go down over the corse of the treatment.  I dont know what numbers you will start at or  what the treatment will do to influence the results.    I have just watched and felt better as the numbers generally went down.   They did go up silghtly from time to time but the trend was downward.   I dont know what is considerd High or Low I think it varies for everyone.

                    I'm stage 4 with  Ipi/Nivo treatment ( responding …  )

                    Hope all goes well.

Jennifer, I had my spleen removed about a 18 months ago.  Due to mets,   just before the procedure I was given 5 different vaccines and was told to avoid possible exposure to disease, as if that’s possible, anyway they assured me that the current trend of antibiotics should protect me in general if necessary. The removal was performed robotically in NYC and I was out of the hospital in 2 days.  I have not had any noticeable issues since.  I was then treated for a year with Immunotherapy, and don’t think it’s made much of a difference if any. If the docs recommend removal for me it has been no big deal.
