Bio

When I was in high school, I read the entire Dune trilogy by Frank Herbert. One particular quote in the book struck me to the point that I actually memorized it. It is the “Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear” (I would have placed it in the Personal Motto section, but it exceeds the 255 character limit!) Here is the complete quote:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

To this day, I still remember the entire quote. To this day, whenever I am faced with a particularly difficult situation, I frepeat this to myself. Although it wasn’t written as a prayer, I certainly use it as one.
