Right on Brother!
I went from clean scans for two years to stage IV in January. On Clinical trial IPI and Debrafenib.
It has done well shrinking tumor so far and last IPI infusion was May 6 so still waiting to find out if IPI is taking over.
Unfortunately after part of face lost feeling this weekend found many very tiny lesions in brain so starting Whole Brain Radiation on Monday. They say with the size of tumors this is normally very effective.
I feel fine and melanoma can kiss my ass also…..I'm going to be not only a survivor but live my life in the fullest!
Good luck and great to hear your story.

Thank You for posting this……it is the kind of news we need to hear.
I was diagnosed Stage IV in January and the cancer was moving fast.
Started a Clinical Trial in Feb and other than a few side effects from the medications I feel great and better all the time.
I plan on being able to tell a similar story.
Great news for you both.

Chris,
That is great news.
I had the shock of stage IV Melanoma in January. Had many tumors in both lungs and liver. Had tumor on other organs and it was moving fast. Brain at that time was clear.
I started Dabrafenib/IPI combo trial mid February.
April 14 I had my first set of scans after treatment and tumors on "other organs" were not detected and the small ones in my lungs and liver were not detectable with all of the larger tumors shrinking substantially.
The Dabrafenib really turned stopped and reversed the progression with amazing results to lower the tumor burdon for the IPI.
I finished my last of the 4 IPI about 3 weeks ago and go in for a checkup next week. I won't have scans for another 5 weeks.
I'm feeling physically great and feel very positive about my long term situation.
Great to hear about your good news.

Thanks for the reply, Celeste…I was looking for it again but unfortunately there are small differences from state to state. For Missouri I is for a Phase 2 or above clinical trial…..I am in a phase 1.
We are going thru all of the appealment processes and my employer is helping with that and helping me.
I am lucky that our insurance is self funded and they are trying to work something out but the language is phase 2 or above for Missouri.
