This was exactly what happened to me except mine was found to be over 2mm with a high mitotic rate rather than 0.7mm.

I did have the SLNB 2 weeks after the WLE and it was negative. They did 1cm margins which were clear and never suggested doing additional surgery on the WLE.

Like others said, it doesn't feel as definitive as if I had been able to have the SLNB before the WLE, but no way to go back. At this time I am not being monitored by ultrasound but maybe it's a possibility in the future.

To add a question, I do not need to look to a second opinion yet, right? Any oncology surgeon would recommend the SLN biopsy next and go from there is what I was assuming? I was looking at options IF anything is found on the SLN and there would be next steps. I am (of course) anxious and would like a second opinion immediately, but I think it probably isn't necessary yet, right?

I am seeing a surgical oncologist but he isn't a melanoma specialist.

This is exactly why I am nervous. There is no way to go back in time, but this is exactly what will bother me if I get the negative result that I am hoping for. I just want to do the right things!
