Thanks Janner….That is what is so unsettlng about my diagnosis, or lack thereof. If niether facility can give a 100% sure diagnosis, should anything happen in the future that treatment is needed, then how do they decide upon which treatment is appropriate? I guess samples/biopsies and testing would be required. Anyway, I just wished there had been a very conclusive name given instead of a guess. I just assumed in the medical field, cancer in particular that the technology and testing nowadays wouldn't leave any unanswered questions. Thanks Janner for your valued input. ๐

Thanks Harry! I will mention this at my next appt. which is Sept. 28, about the BRAF. My oncologist said the staining done on the sample that covered like 98% of melanoma wasn't conclusive. It also wasn't conclusive for the primary lung cancer either. So, being sent to another facility and tested further, that team says they feel like it's melanoma, but aren't certain to any degree. I think this is an instance where maybe the prior history of melanoma may have been the weighing factor, although I'm not certain, but I do know that there isn't a diagnosis either way that is given without a doubt. Thanks for the info and encouraging words!

My doctor didn't give the size of the nodule. He only said it showed benign numbers, the 2.3 being below the malignant threshold of 2.5…He said I'd have a CT scan in Dec. to see if it has grown..Supposedly it could be any number of things of benign nature. I was hoping someone out there could help shed some light on this as I feel the information I recieved was scetchy at best, if there's a possibility it's returned, I need that info now. He(doc) didn't act too concerned about the possibility of it being cancer. The radiologist only recommended follow-up and to be suspicious, but said it was considered benign at the time. Thanks.!
