Bio

Hello! My name is Kimmy and I was diagnosed with stage II melanoma while pregnant. I would have to say that was and still is the scariest time in my life because not only was my life in danger but also the unborn baby. Right now the pregnancy is going along just fine and I’m going to see the local oncologist next month April 2017. I am due in July 2017 so I’m hoping everything is smooth sailing so far. I currently live in Alaska where it’s hard to get medical help because of limited resources so I had to go down to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to see Dr. David Byrd to further assess my condition back in January 2017. After the surgery, the doctor’s were able to remove the cancer site and check my lymph nodes to make sure it hadn’t spread. Today, March 9th, 2017, I am cancer free! I will have my first oncologist appointment next month. 🙂
