i had a pet/ct a few weeks ago before a lymphadenectomy. my dr stated that he saw 2 things in my neck. he said it was bilateral and couldn't be identified. said he thinks it's nohing, but we will repeat in three months – which i think we would've been doing anyway for awhile since i'm newly diagnosed. it was confusing to me also… has anyone ever heard of something of this nature? my surgeon loves to tell me all the time how there's the school of thought that we over-test and scan and that so often it's just "stuff" going on. had we not scanned and tested, it would've just "gone on" and done no harm and scared no one. but, with the melanoma now, the book is officially open. every "thing" going on will scare me!

I have been in your position. It sucks. It would almost be easier if WE didn’t have to make the decision. Search my posts though… I’ve asked a few times and have gotten some invaluable advice. I did the surgery. Last week. Recovering now. The drain is a bit gross but not so bad. In fact I think it may be helping to reduce what was pretty major swelling ore-op. feel free to keep in touch or ask anynquestions. Sorry for typos. On iPad and HATE it, -

Regarding the leg elevation… Do you recall how high leg was to be? If I have the option to borrow a comfy recliner, would you think it would be worth moving into my house? Thx. -

Thx Cindy,That’s encouraging to hear. I fear my swelling may be worse just bc I’m already going into the surgery w lymphemema from excision.
I was just wondering… If you don’t mind me asking… How is it that you are stage 4? I thought (and I’m sure I’m just ignorant of facts) that there had to be organ involvement. It’s so tough trying to “get” how it all works.
Thx!
