Bio

My name is Marc Baires. I have worked for two extraordinary companies who have worked so hard on this disease: Genentech and BMS. Now it seems like I am in need of at least one or both of their help. I have Stage 4 metastatic choroidal melanoma. I had my eye enucleated for the primary disease, but had no idea it could return 12 years later. My doctor gave me a clean bill of health several years ago and I trust him. I have 1 large tumor (5-6cm) and around 40 smaller (mm) tumors in my liver. I am starting yervoy today and will be asking for radiation treatment as well as Zelboraf if I am a candidate. I am coming in late in the game but have faith that I can stave this off. I still feel healthy and none of the tmors are in life threatening spots. I have a lot of liver reserve still so I pray I have time to get it under control. I thank god for my loved ones, my mother (Ana Anderson), my brother ( Michael Baires), my father (German Baires), and my loving girlfriend/life Partner (Wah Lwin). They give me so much hope and faith that I can beat this thing. Thanks for all your support.
