Hi, Felicity. I wish you all the best for this coming 2012 New Year. I am the wife and mother of three Melanoma patients. My husband was diagnosed with Melanoma Stage II in 1995. The tumor and Metastasis on his neck were resected . He is doing well after the operation. He has survived for 16 years now and we hope he will survive for longer. My children also were diagnosed with primary melanoma at a later stage (2004 and 2007). Yo have to be under the supervision of an Oncologist of course, but there is something that I advise you can do for yourself: Try not getting depressed please, otherwise your immunological system will get down and will not help you to fight Melanoma. Keep a sane diet full of fruits and veg. You can also scan your body every 3-6 months by taking pictures of your moles and then comparing them by the time, in such a way that you could notice any change in size or color on them and could take the necessary steps. In the mean time, just try to enjoy your life !!!. I am praying for you too. Good luck !!!
