I don't know anything about spitz nevus, but I can relate to your fear/questions. I went in for my skin check knowing I had something on my hand, the derm swore it was a wart. I was like, "I know for fact this is not a wart and I want it biopied. He wanted to freeze it. I refused. he begrudgingly did a shave biopsy, which I also didn't want but chose the lesser of two evils at this point. Result came back atypical seborrheic keratosis. So not cancer, not yet anyways. But most definitely not a wart. So I know have another spot on my scalp that is suddenly changing very quickly. I've had it for a year or two, but now it's suddenly growing vertically and is hard. Looks like a flesh colored seborrheic keratosis, but at this point anything that is changing I want cut out. So made an appointment with a new derm on 05/02 and will have her biopsy it. And I will keep changing derms until I find one that is willing to not only use their education and experience but also understand that I know my body too. And it's so much easier to just biopsy than to risk it.
If you are having anxiety, call and get in sooner. Tell them your history. That's the best and most proactive thing you can do. I wish I could assure it's nothing, but the only definitive way to do that is to go in sadly. So please go and then update us!
Hugs and understanding to you!

This report seems to suggest that the cysts are to be considered benign. But perhaps another consult with your doc to make sure they don’t need to be biopsied is in order?

Hi Maggie!
I was diagnosed with Meniere's in march 2016. Had surgery in January 2017 to help control vertigo. Am stable as of right now with that.
Diagnosed with melanoma August 2018. Stage 1 right now. Am having another possible primary removed on Monday, hoping pathology is negative.
Interested to see who else has these 'M' diseases!

I'm so sorry to hear this for your sister. I was 1A in August of 2018 and for some reason have not been able to stop thinking about this type of thing. I know the 'odds' and 'prognosis' isn't in favor of this happening, but I think it happens far more than we talk about or acknowledge. Therefore, I am hypervigilant about my own health and spreading Melanoma Awareness.
Just this past month, I started talking to a stranger who had a strange mark on his hand I advised him to get it checked out. He told me it was just a blood blister, but his friend had this exact thing happen to him. And I've heard other stories.
I don't want to be a doomsday prepper, but I also don't want to be shocked or unsure of what to do. So I offer you hope in that there are so many people on here beating the beast and at least taming to levels one can live with. I pray this for your sister and hope that you can get loads of good information on here.
Always,

the depth of your melanoma helps with staging. You are most likely Stage II, but without more information it's hard to know. But it is growth into the skin towards your bone.
The SNLB will be to rule out any spread to lymph nodes in that area. And the wide excision isto make sure they have gotten all remnants of the tumor out.
Try not to borrow trouble by worrying too much. Cross each moment as they come. Melanoma is an a$$hole, but many people are living well with it or have beaten the beast.
Sorry you are now a part of this group, but here you are sure to find some support and lots of positivity. Welcome (hugs)

I don't know about your question, but I love your user name. It says dizzy and deaf to me. I can relate to that sentiment as I have Meniere's disease as well as melanoma that is NED right now. 😉

Okay, so three of us with Meniere's and melanoma? Hmmm. makes you think doesn't it? I got sick with melanoma in March of 2016. Had sac decompression and shunt in January 2017. Diagnosed with melanoma in August 2018. Now have what I think is another primary, going for biopsy Monday.
I wish you all the best with your treatments. I wish I had better answers for either nasty beast. As I'm sitting here worried about my upcoming biopsy, my ear is full and tinnitus is booming. I can no longer tolerate scope patch for attacks as they make my heart rate drop into the 40s. So I just have to pray my shunt keeps working and I can alleviate some of the stress as it's terrible for both conditions, yet they both cause stress.
Round and round we go!
Best of luck to all… much love.

Agreed. If he insists on shave, I will defer to another physician to do it. Not common to hear of melanoma on the hand. Not sure if the thin skin can increase depth faster or not? Best to be safe.

Thank you! I have an appt on 04/04/19 for a full body check, lymph node check and I will insist that he biopsy this 'thing' on my hand. I truly feel its skin cancer. Just not sure if it's melanoma or if it's SCC. Either way, I am going to insist.
Question: he will most likely try to do a shave biopsy. This is on my hand ,where the skin is thin, should I let him to a shave? or insist on something different? The location has me stumped.
