I am on nivo and it’s not a trial. It is my adjunctive therapy for 1 year. Then see where we are at. I am stage 3b.

Dx in July this year. Had surgery Stage 3b and now on Opdivo in Adjunctive Therapy. The owrst part has been the sirgery to remove 30 lymph nodes in my neck and it has not healed well. Other than that it has not been terrible.

                  Terry,

I had a 3.6mm melanoma cut of about 3 months ago, and parotid removed, and. Lymph nodes. My face was almost like a stroke victim. As of today it’s almost back to normal. They get in there moving stuff around and causes havoc.

I wish I would have taken the time to investigate more on this. When I was first diagnosed 3 months ago I just said do whatever get it out of me. No I am still healing from surgery 2 months ago. Had a huge infection and none of the nodes came back bad except the sentitnel one that we saw on pet scan anyways.

Be impossible to answer unless someone has their own personal experience. I have read anywhere from weeks to never.

Went to the 30 minutes and it was not a problem for me. They were about to up me to the double dose so i only had togo once a month, but opdivo was found to not be working for me and i have togo back under the knoife and a new treatment after that.

Me neither . I went super agressive and have second guessed it because of a massive infection I got and still dealing with.

Yes insurance is covering it. I am one of the first ones to get it approved for this treatment i think outside of a trail. I go in Monday for my next treatment. Really outside the surgery, which was no joke, I have very little side effects except some fatigue.

I am 42 and just went through all this. I am repsonding because these posts are from years ago. I just had my paroid removed and 34 lymph nodes and it was not easy. I am a decenlty in shap guy need to lose 25 libs but strong. You do not have todo chemo now for this. Ask you dr about the immunotherpaies available they are nto as harsh.

Thats what i did . I just got mine finsihed and mine is on my left temple. I had to have wide margins because of the level of my disease but the plastic surgeon is the corrrect jumping off point.
