I'd be interested in the response to this as well.  My husband is having an excision of a melanoma on his lower abdomen with an SLNB on May 19.

Oh, I am so sorry.  My husband and I are just starting this journey and he is so far Stage 1 and I'm thinking about it 24/7 as well.  I can only imagine how hard it is for you.  It is so scary.  I hope you will get counseling so you will have someone to talk with and a neutral person you can "let it all out" with.  Someone you feel you do not have to hold back with.

I haven't looked into it yet but my friends who are facing serious health situations with their loved ones really have benefited from support groups.  It seems to me that it would be good to be with others in the same place to feel less alone.

Thanks so much to both you and Janner.  I have my fingers crossed for a positive conversation with the surgeon this morning!

Thank you for responding!  We know so little about the pathology report that we'll have to see what the doctor says tomorrow.  Personally, I am almost as hesitant about the thought of a lymph node dissection as I am with the thought of interferon.  Both sound like a lot of pain for just a little gain.  The upside to the SNB would be the comfort if it were negative.  My husband just played nine holes of golf this AM and has plenty of life left in him.  It will entirely up to him.  I am just very very worried.  It helps to talk about it with someone who understands.
