Bio

I am a retired power plant mechanic: Retired early at the age of 57 to travel and enjoy life! Have always enjoyed being outdoors! One year ago was diagnosed with malignant melanoma – a lump arose on my rose shoulder after my dermatologist had excised the area one year earlier and declared margins clear. The tumor was in the lymph node. Found excellent surgeon at MD Anderson in Houston and they advised that I follow the treatment protocol of Yervoy. Opdivo was added after my cancer was declared to be spreading quickly on a scan in mid summer. Opdivo has since been discontinued and I am on maintenance Yervon every two weeks My doc says it is saving my life and I will have to continue until I “can’t tolerate it” or “it isn’t working any longer”. I feel fortunate to have the good outcome so far with little side effects. However, Ido have back pain from the bone mets in my spine before treatment.
