With IDO failing last week, the remaining combo pd-1 clinical trials like CMP-001 are even more important. If you feel comfortable with the injections it is not a bad option in terms of trials to participate in. Some people definitely do see responses in the injected tumors, but the question of overall survival increases and boosts to the systemic immune response is still unanswered.

Congrats first off. You're in a great place. If I was you the only thing more I would be looking for is a process called circulating tumor DNA monitoring which might be available to you if you're an Australian or in a clinical trail in the U.S. Check this paper out. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0304383517304123. Basically, clean scans are great, but a doctor with this new technique can feel very confident taking responders off of their treatments with a blood draw and an analysis of the loose DNA just rattling around in your bloodstream.

It is good that you are careful! The fact that there is nothing on your forms/instructions almost certainly means that this has not been a major reported issue with opdivo, so it is likely that it really depends on the person whether opdivo is "good' or "bad" in combination with the flu and that the effects are small, generally.

You could check to see if there are any trials or cancer centers in your area that use circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) surveillence. This is an extremely new method of cancer assessment which can be very helpful when scans are inconclusive on new mets. It isn't everywhere yet but it only takes a blood draw and really is the ideal tool for your situation.

Hey OP,
There is definitely a chance that you avoid recurrance but it is good to see that you're preparing for your risks. The difference between these BMS immunotherapies in terms of survival in the adjuvant setting is only slight, and weakly supported by the data, but the side effects can be very different so I would talk about that carefully with your doctor and not really stress toooo much about which adjuvant treatment you jump into in terms of these big survival data studies
