Have you had a skin graft – because I can see that this is potentially headed in that direction.  Will a skin graft on that area put me off my feet for a while?  I teach at a middle school and from what I have read it is important to keep that area from being banged or knocked and that would be next to impossible in a hallway filled with middle school students.   Silly thing to worry about I know – but I spend inordinate amounts of time worrying about small stuff to avoid thinking about the big stuff. Won't even get into how this is messing with my half marathon training since I haven't been able to run nearly a month now LOL!  Really I am glad to be healthy and whole with two surgeries in less than a year!

Thanks, thinking of a month recovery time is freaking me out. The big obstacles seem to be keeping the leg imobile and possibly my age, I'm 60.

Thanks, it's funny but that's the only part I'm worried about right now, how I'm going to recuperate. We have two active dogs and a kitten and I'll be spending a lot of time on the sofa and I  just don't want to screw up the graft and have to do it again.

Thank you, This whole thing is just new to me and I don't know what to think.  I have always been an extremely healthy person – didn't go to a doctor for about 10 years really – so I have certainly made up the difference in the last 10 months! I am definitely switching to a new dermatologist – need someone who is more willing to listen to me for sure.  Also I know I will have to be more assertive and proactive with my health – can't take it for granted anymore.
