Bio

My name is Teri and i was 23 when i was first diagnosed with invasive malignant melanoma. I was so affraid! I was 8so months pregnant with my son and my husband was in Afghanistan. Just a little over a week after i was diagnosed i was induced and had a healthy 7 pound 3 ounce (melanoma free, THANK GOD!!) Baby boy. My husband was able to watch the birth of our first child over skype 🙂 After our son was born it was a hurry up and wait game. I had an ultrasound on my liver and a chest x-ray that turned out normal. Surgery was in october to remove the melanoma and lymph nodes. Everything was clean. The doctors think that the cancer some how went through my blood to my brain the down my spine. LP shows no other cancer cells in the spinal fluid. Everything looks good now! Chemo is going great and seems to be working. Tumors are getting smaller and i have another full body CT in may 2012 and an MRI in june 2012. Hopefully everything keeps going well!! We have to get our son tested every 6 months to make sure nothing went to him during the pregnancy and all his tests have been great! My husband has been home for a year this month and it has been wonderful!
