I should also mention that I have severe anxiety after reading about nodular melanoma presentation and symptoms which has undoubtedly caused several weird symptoms. The fever thing probably not explained by anxiety, though.

Thanks, Bill. My thought was that current symptoms and pending biopsy results might be enough for imaging at the hospital to tell if there were other lesions internally.

forgot to mention I also had a sore/stiff neck and nausea. Other than that I feel fairly normal. Got really freaked out when I read somewhere that cancer spread to brain can present with fever as a symptom.

Still waiting and still getting more and more nervous about bad news coming my way. I’ve developed more tightness and pain under my right arm, some light tingling/numb-like feelings and a little pain under the left. This tightness was barely present the day of my biopsy, but has increased and doesn’t seem to be going away. I thought it might be a muscle/nerve thing but I’m not sure. Derm didn’t seem concerned at my exam.

I’ve been reading a lot about dermatofibroma’s and hoping that could be what I have, but not convinced that even a possible diagnosis based on the ulceration, bleeding and drainage of the bump on my neck. It doesn’t dimple like I’ve read they normally do. I did have a yellow jacket sting in nearly the same spot last year, though, which can be associated. Also noticed the bump on my chest has gone from reddish to brown and is slightly tender, which it has done in the past, but I’m not sure how long it actually been there.

It’s going to be a very long weekend!

I love your reassuring optimism, and hope you are right. But from my research, the bump on my neck shows hallmark nodular melanoma presentation. Hopefully my research and interpretation of appearance and symptoms is flawed and the results come back OK. At this point, I’d be pleased with basal cell or squamous cell. Anything but nodular melanoma.

Thank you for the reassurance. Best of luck in your situation!

I had calmed myself down and stopped thinking about it until some other recent symptoms popped into my head. The presentation of the bump on my neck, how long it had been there, the itching and irritation, raised/hard lump, all hallmarks of nodular melanoma. I've had more slight headaches than normal recently, as well, been easily agitated, etc. which points to brain metastasis.  Also had pain in lower right stomach, which suggest metastasis to liver. Under my arms has been tender/sore for the past few days, as well. But I read cancer in the lymph nodes usually presents with painless, hardened nodes. I can't find any like that on me thankfully. Still freaking out and fearing the worst, but trying to not focus on it, as I can't chage the outcome at this point.
